Removal of paint from an oil storage tank |
|
|
Periodic inspection on oil tanks is obligatory by the Fire Defense Law to prevent oil leakage. The inspection is conducted to check if the weld inside the tank is suffering any damage. Before conducting the inspection, it is necessary to remove the oxide layer and paint from the weld area. The conventional way of removal was to use the sandblast method. However, because the working environment and waste treatment have been a big problem with this method, the 250-Mpa waterjet method has been gaining in popularity. Sugino Machine’s Hi-Jet Cleaner removes the paint layer by discharging ultra high-pressure water from its nozzle. Because the paint fragments and water are continuously retrieved and not sprayed around, the working environment and waste treatment problem has now been solved. |
