How to adjust and set tool diameter (SH/SB series)
  1. The tool diameter expands by pressing the housing toward the shank and rotating it clockwise and reduces by pressing the housing toward the shank and rotating it counterclockwise. The incremental scale for minimum adjustment is 0.0025 mm.
  2. By releasing the housing the location of the rollers automatically lock and the tool diameter is set.
  3. Use a micrometer to measure the roller head as in the figure below and ensure that the tool diameter is correct.
  4. If Superoll is used for a blind hole trim off the mandrel to avoid interference at the bottom of the hole. To trim the mandrels end use a grinder or a special turning tool. To prevent any reduction of the mandrels material hardness, gradually perform this action while continually cooling the end of the tool being ground.
For an accurate micrometer reading be certain to press the back end of the roller firmly to the back end of the frame when measuring the tool diameter.
