Announcement of Selfeeder “Electric” / Synchro Tapper Series Renewal

We are pleased to announce the renewal of the Selfeeder series and the Synchro Tapper ST series, as shown in the table below.
In the meantime, we regret to inform you that the current series and Synchro Tapper ST series will be discontinued at the end of March, 2024.Customers using the current model are encouraged to consider preparing spare units, etc. and to consider switching to the renewed version of the new series in the future.

January 8, 2024: Start of shipping of the new model (renewed version)

End of March 2024: Deadline for order-taking and to be discontinued of current models

*The inventory period of maintenance parts for current models will be one year (end of March 2025) after the deadline for order fulfillment and end of production.​However, the supply of purchased parts may be discontinued even within this period, depending on their availability.​

3．Renewal Background

Against the backdrop of global warming prevention, high-efficiency regulations for three-phase induction motors have been enacted in many countries and regions. Currently, three-phase induction motors are installed in many devices, including automobiles, and are estimated to account for 40% to 50% of the world’s power consumption, and there is an urgent need to respond to high efficiency as a device that consumes a considerable amount of energy.

In addition, power consumption is also proportional to carbon dioxide emissions, and high-efficiency regulations are expected to become even stricter in the future.
In order to address these issues, we have switched to PM motors with higher efficiency.We believe that this will reduce carbon dioxide emissions and contribute to the prevention of global warming.

4．Features of the Selfeeder / Synchro Tapper with PM motor

1. Energy saving

Highly efficient PM motor is used for the spindle drive motor. Low power consumption reduces electricity costs.

2．Reduced CO2 emissions

Compared to three-phase induction motors, which are estimated to account for 40-50% of the world’s total power consumption, CO2 emissions are expected to be reduced by 10-30%, contributing to the reduction of global warming.
