Uniformity of the Quality Manual
Sugino Machine has unified the quality manuals that were previously operated by individual organizations into a company-wide system. By integrating and standardizing the quality management system, it is expected to facilitate company-wide deployment and enhance overall awareness of quality throughout the organization.
Thorough Quality Control Procedures
At Sugino Machine, in order to deliver safe and high-quality products to our customers, we conduct design reviews during the development and design phases to identify potential issues and areas for improvement within the designs and concepts. During the manufacturing phase, we perform various quality inspections, including incoming inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections, following proper procedures to ensure rigorous quality control.
S-up Activities
Sugino Machine Group is engaged in “S-up Activities(*)” aimed at improving operational efficiency.
We identify daily workplace issues and carry out improvement activities through ingenuity and innovation to resolve them. From these improvement activities, we select outstanding initiatives and hold company-wide presentations every six months to promote cross-departmental deployment and boost employee motivation.

Quality Improvement Month
Sugino Machine Group regularly conducts a “Quality Improvement Month” to enhance employees’ quality awareness and elevate the quality of products and services. Each Quality Improvement Month features a different theme, with clear objectives and implementation guidelines communicated across all business locations and offices. At the end of each Quality Inprovement Month, departments prepare implementation reports to evaluate the outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Efforts to Ensure Product Safety
Disclosure of Information on Safe Product Use
The water jet is a unique product that leverages our company’s technology. By injecting water at high speeds ranging from several tens to hundreds of meters per second, it achieves significant effects in various applications such as cutting, cleaning, chipping, and peeling. However, due to its extremely high energy, improper use can lead to serious accidents. We actively share fundamental knowledge and correct handling methods for water jets with our customers and disclose procedures for dealing with potential accidents on our website.
Response to Product Defects
If defects occur in products manufactured and sold by Sugino Machine, we promptly investigate the cause and implement emergency measures and preventive actions. The Quality Assurance Division verifies the adequacy of these measures and manages the process until all actions are completed, ensuring a thorough follow-up system.
In the unlikely event of a major product accident, such as a product liability (PL) incident, the Quality Assurance Department Head will immediately organize a corrective action team and, if necessary, establish a response meeting to investigate the cause and implement corrective measures, following reporting and approval from the President. Defects are classified by product and cause, and statistics are compiled to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
